Could the perceived 'bias' against conservative women in the media be explained simply that?

They get alot of media attention because they say provocative, controversial and sometimes really, really stupid things which you dont often see liberal women in politics. So the public view these conservative women specifically bachmann, coulter and palin as interesting, different and sometimes amusing, definitely controversial and therefore story worthy? Think about it.
