I told my best friend about my period?

My best friend is a guy, his name is Eric. He's the bestest friend I had in a long time and he asked about why I wouldn't let him look through my binder and then I told him about...you know my period. He didn't seem freaked out he was actually mature about it and offered me tips. He told me what he was going through too. I just had to talk to somebody about this....is this like bonding time between us? Does this mean he trusts me (we've only been friends for about a year), Does it mean soemthing that he didn't just go "eww...gross" or "that's awkward..."?
